56 Hours to California and back

It was a big weekend for our family. Cheryl Brad and I met Todd and Sarah in Lancaster late Sat. night because Todd was being Ordained and Installed at Grace Lutheran Church.
This is the start of Todd's career
as a pastor. He is going to plant a new congregation as ofshoot of Grace Lutheran. It was a wonderful weekend although way to short but a series of events that were just wonderful. The service of ordination was very ritulistic, breath-taking and majestic. It was a very humbling and yet proud moment as a parent and as a Christian. It is hard to put into words what a service like this means to us but, it is unique. I have not been able to put into words and if I did the people that I tell about it would not understand. To most people Todd's calling is just another job. But, he has set upon a path that will bring people to Christ, what a joy for him. We all need to bring people to God and now Todd gets to, as a pastor, helps his congregation to do this. We are truly blest.

A big Week Coming Up

Well this is going to be a big week both good and also stressfull. Todd and Sarah leave tomorrow for Lancaster Ca. and their new life at Grace and the new church Todd will start (would that be the church of Todd and will Mo. Synod headquarters go along with it) Cheryl and I are sad in one way to see them leave but, are really happy and proud that they are embarking on the life they have been working so hard to get started. We will be going to Lancaster next week to attend Todd's ordination and installation. This will really be a proud parent moment. Word's cannot express our pride in Todd.
On a more stressful note our friend Jane starts her 3-4 week long treatment for bone-marrow cancer. It is a grueling time that she will have to endure with chemo therapy and isolation. We need to keep her in our prayers along with her husband Bill. I have been the caregiver when Cheryl went though her treatment and it is stressful in a whole different way.
